To ensure that your MelaWood SupaGloss boards stay in mint condition, you should store them properly. You can either stack the boards horizontally or store them vertically (if there is a small number of boards).
Tips For Stacking The Boards Horizontally
- Stack on a flat, secure surface/ ground
- Use joists to support the boards – the joists need to be of uniform thickness & size
- Boards ≥ 15 mm in thickness– use 800mm spacing or for a minimum of 4 joists for a 2750mm board
- Boards ˂ 15 mm, use less spacing than 800mm (basically, “Distance x thickness(M)”)
- Vertically align joists evenly to ensure that boards don’t get deforms as a result of uneven storage
- Cover the boards with cover boards to ensure protection
- Use corner protectors to protect board edges, especially if the board stacks are going to be fastened with plastic or steel bands
- Make sure the boards don’t protrude while in stacks
Tips For Storing The Boards Vertically
- Rather opt for horizontal stacking, especially if you have a large number of boards
- Fasten the boards properly as the MelaWood SupaGloss boards have a gloss surface that can make the boards more prone to slipping
- Use stacks, shelves or closed storage locations to achieve secure fastening
- Make sure that the storage surface of the boards does not exceed 500mm in width
